Laurel Bend

Laurel Bend is a family friendly campground on the Licking River ideal for large groups with children of all ages. Our property consists of 27 peaceful acres with several buildings perfect for your group!

We are a Unique Stay for Answers in Genesis and listed on both the Ark and Creation Museum's sites and are honored to host so many great youth and church groups.

The space

This listing is for BOTH bunkhouses, which each contain primarily bunk beds, but also a few twin beds and futons that convert to double beds in each.

Our bunk houses are 30 feet wide by 120 feet long. One side connects directly to the men's bathroom and the other bunkhouse connects directly to the women's bathroom. Our two newly renovated bathhouses each contain 5 toilets, 5 showers and 4 large sinks, as well as a baby changing area. There are handicapped bathroom and shower stalls in each as well. We are still working on locking doors on the showers for privacy and safety (not shown in photos) but have curtains.

Outside, there is a basketball court, playground and several open acres to play, walk and enjoy your stay. We are located on the Licking River, so there are places to hike down to the river if you wish.

Pricing is per the space, not the number of people. You will need to bring sleeping bag, pillow and a towel. We provide bed, comfortable latex or spring mattresses on the bunks, tables, chairs, games and some outdoor equipment.

Breakfast and possibly other meals can be coordinated at an additional cost if you contact us.

Guest access

Almost every guest we host is visiting the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, staying with us to enjoy the peaceful property and surroundings. There are several small restaurants around, listed on the blackboard in the kitchen, but we are just a 10 minute walk to The Smoking Pig Tavern in town.

Other things to note

Our main purpose is to a create a safe and enjoyable, family-friendly venue for weddings, reunions and other retreats while providing work and job training for adults with developmental disabilities. Part of our program will involve animals, so as we progress, or rotate pastures, there may be chickens, angora goats and perhaps a few alpacas grazing within fenced areas. With that in mind, we are not accepting pets at this time.
